New publication on employee engagement reveals the key to reduced turnover and improved performance

Anne Loehr, Vice President of the Center for Human Capital Innovation, and Dr. Danielle Harlan, Ph.D. , CEO of the Center for Advancing Leadership and Human Potential, recently published an analysis of their findings on the topics of employee engagement and leadership.

In today’s diverse and challenging corporate landscape, organizations both in the public and private sector struggle with low employee engagement and high turnover.

A recent poll from Gallup placed employee engagement rates at an abysmal 13% and approximated that 51% of employees were actively looking to leave their current employer. With the cost of attracting, hiring, training and retaining employees at an all-time high, organizations that fail to address issues of employee engagement and turnover face costly consequences both in performance and the bottom line. There are many organizations that provide the employee engagement training program as well.

New Insights into a Growing Epidemic in Businesses Large and Small

Anne Loehr, Vice President of the Center for Human Capital Innovation, and Dr. Danielle Harlan, Ph.D., CEO of the Center for Advancing Leadership and Human Potential, recently published an analysis of their findings on the topics of employee engagement and leadership.

In their co-authored publication, both Loehr and Dr. Harlan provide critical insights into the underlying causes of employee dissatisfaction, turnover, and low engagement.

According to both authors, the ‘secret sauce, implemented to great effect by those organizations that have established high performing teams with strong retention rates, is something called ‘Intrapreneurship.

Intrapreneurship: The key to performance, engagement and retention

Intrapreneurship is a term for a new approach to leadership and employee dynamics. According to Loehr and Dr. Harlan, this forward-thinking concept focuses on effectively encouraging employees to both learn and apply entrepreneurial knowledge, skills and mindsets within their organization. Effective use of this provides a creative outlet and opportunities for those employees seeking to grow in their roles. The byproduct? Increased engagement, retention and performance.
